If you're a fan of doing as many good things as possible at one time, then this is just the ticket.

An American charity has come up with a smart idea to maximise awareness of its good work, and suitable local businesses are invited to take part.

Recycling for Charities (RFC) recycles electronic devices and donates all its profits to charities across the States. RFC has had a smart car specially wrapped and plans to take its message to the streets of Michigan in the hope of promoting its commitment to being good and green to a wider audience.

The task for the smart is to offer a mobile collection facility for the people of Michigan, with the branded smart travelling around important events to educate the public about the benefits of recycling.

This is where local businesses can get involved. The freshly wrapped smart still has a few spaces available for placement sponsorship and, as the smart is destined to make its presence known across sporting events, charity fundraisers and a host of festivals, it's a great way to share the positive message.

The only catch is a very good catch. In order to have your company sponsorship on the RFC smart car, your company has to have a green component, so it's not for any old gas-guzzling, high waste operations.

Sponsoring the RFC smart has loads of advantages for local businesses. As a registered non-profit organisation, any RFC sponsorship is totally tax deductible, the jam-packed smart calendar will make sure the branding is seen at tons of events and the PR campaign for the promotion will give even more exposure. Not to mention the good green fun - after all, all companies today have to be good corporate citizens.

RFC was set up to benefit charities and the earth. The charity collects electronic devices like mobile phones, PDAs and digital cameras and disposes of them in the proper manner, with all the money raised from the recycling going to over 800 charities nationwide.

A rep from RFC said, "The mission is to raise awareness for our charity while increasing donations of used electronics. To date we've helped keep over 2,000 tones of e-waste out of landfills and now Recycling for Charities is going to make waves in a smart kind of way."
